This face mask will make you look old - but for a good reason.

For the past few months, I’ve been seeing the South Korean Hanacure mask taking over social media as the mask that temporarily makes your face scaly and wrinkly before delivering impressive results. Even Drew Barrymore posted a selfie with the mask, claiming that it’s “changed her life.”

So when my colleague Taylor told me he’s never tried face masks of any kind, let alone any real facial products other than bar soap, I knew he was the one that had to give this revolutionary mask a try. He even shaved his entire face for this.

The all-in-one Hanacure Facial -- which has a hefty price tag of $29 for one -- promises “immediate, visible” results like an even skin tone, tightened pores, lifted skin and more. Applying the mask is pretty simple: you apply the facial gel all over your face with a small brush that comes with the packaging and let it dry for a half-hour before washing it off with warm water.

We recruited our social media editor Ryan to help Taylor put the face mask on because Ryan, unlike Taylor, is a bit more experienced in skincare and beauty. Ryan knew what the face mask would do as it dried but we obviously kept it from Taylor and let him think that he looked beautiful the entire time. I gave him a mirror right before he washed it off.

I should mention that we did forget an important step of shaking the gel solution with the lifting serum vigorously for 20 seconds, so the mask was not as tight as it should normally have been. Also, for the best possible result, try your best to not move your face around at all.

Watch the video above to find out how Taylor's skin reacted to the face mask. Even though Taylor may not have had visible results immediately, experts say the Hanacure mask is beneficial, especially for long-term anti-aging routine.

Important: the temporary redness that appeared on Taylor's face may have been caused by the intentional stretching and moving of his face while he still had the mask on. The product strongly suggests that you do not move your face and closely follow every step of the direction for best possible results.
