This couple knows what it means to be in love after more than seven decades together

Share

This couple is as much in love as they were on their wedding day after 72 years of marriage.

Paul and Madeline Kressley were married on March 31, 1945, at the ages of 17 and 19.

With each second that passes, the love between 89-year-old Madeline and 90-year-old Paul only grows.

"I remember my wedding day. It rained, it snowed, and the sun came out," Madeline told WPDE news.

They moved to South Carolina from Pennsylvania nine years ago to enjoy the warmer weather.

When asked about their advice for a long lasting marriage, Madeline said,

"I believe if you ever have an argument, which sometimes we did about different things, we always made up before we went to bed because you never know if another day comes that you can't say, 'I'm sorry."

Paul worked 62 years as a car dealership mechanic and Madeline was a homemaker to their three girls.

"I think I was put here on earth just for him."

Paul's memory is starting to fade, but Madeline says despite the hard work ahead, she knows it's all worth it. She says Paul is her purpose and when you're in love, you have to take the good with the bad.

As sure as time marches on, so will Madeline and Paul's love for each other.
