Voice actress June Foray, best known for her work as the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel on "The Rocky And Bullwinkle Show," has died. She was 99.
Foray's close friend, Dave Nimitz, confirmed her death on Facebook. "With a heavy heart again I want to let you all know that we lost our little June today at 99 years old," he wrote. "She is now in heaven with her family and my mother."
Foray also served as the voice of Rocky's nemesis Natasha Fatale and Cindy Lou Who in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." She voiced Granny in the "Tweety and Sylvester" cartoons and Looney Tunes' Witch Hazel.
The voice actress was also one of the original members of the animation organization ASIFA.
"On behalf of Asifa-Hollywood, which June was a founder of, we are mourning the passing of animation's best friend,” said Jerry Beck, ASIFA-Hollywood president. "She was one of a kind. A trail blazer, a great talent and a truly wonderful person. We will never forget her."
