Lyft and Taco Bell are teaming up to cater to a client base they both share: drunk people.
The ride-sharing company announced Tuesday that "Taco Mode" will bring customers to a Taco Bell drive-thru in a Lyft. Riders who use "Taco Mode," which will be an in-app option, will receive a free Doritos Locos.
"Taco Mode" will be available July 27 to 30 and Aug. 3 to 6 between the hours of 9 p.m.-2 a.m. for customers in Orange County, California.
The companies said in a press release that they plan to bring "Taco Mode" to additional markets by the end of the year, adding that a "nationwide rollout" is expected in 2018.
"We realized that for every person who has asked their Lyft driver to make a pit-stop at Taco Bell — and we've seen many — there are likely those who weren't sure if this was possible," Taco Bell CMO Marisa Thalberg said in a statement to Business Insider. "With the advent of this fantastic partnership with Lyft, we will erase any lingering uncertainty and celebrate the ability to 'ride-thru' in Taco Mode."
