Country singer Abby Nicole has died following injuries she sustained while riding in a utility task vehicle (UTV) in Nebraska, according to our affiliate KHGI.
KHGI reported Sunday that the musician – who was born as Abby Uecker – died early that morning after being transported to Thayer County Health Services in Hebron, NE.
The Thayer County Sheriff’s Office reportedly received a 911 call at 4:20 a.m. Sunday that a 25-year old female had been injured while riding a UTV.
Uecker, of Norfolk, NE, was purportedly found at the Thayer County Fairgrounds in Deshler, NE before her death.
Some Twitter users on Monday voiced sadness over Uecker’s death, which reportedly occurred after her band, Abby Nicole & County Road, performed at the Fairgrounds Saturday night.
Uecker reportedly played with her band Friday and Saturday evenings following races at the Thayer County Speedway.
Chad Barnhill, a member of Uecker’s band, wrote a statement celebrating the singer’s life Sunday.
“I miss you sooo much Abby Nicole…you were ready to be the One Me we talked about,” he said on Facebook. “I drove home today and wanted you in my passenger seat.”
“Feet on the dash,” Barnhill continued. “Wrapped up in your blanket. Singing our favorite songs. You weren’t there, but I still felt you.”
“I Will Always Love You Abby. I promise to celebrate your life with others. You touched so many lives. Especially mine. Music is a Gift That Lasts a Lifetime. Thank You for being my Gift.”
Nebraska State Patrol’s investigation into Uecker’s death reportedly remains ongoing, and her official cause of death remains unknown.
