Watch as a suspected drunk driver crashes into a gas pump in Washington state

A driver is lucky to be alive after crashing through a fence and slamming into a car and a gas pump early Monday in Federal Way, Washington, our affiliate KOMO reported.

The incident unfolded at about 1:50 a.m. as the driver was heading east on South 272nd Street at high speed, said Cathy Schrock of the Federal Way police.

The 32-year-old driver lost control at Pacific Highway South, crashed through a fence and into the parking lot of an AM-PM station, where his vehicle rolled over and slammed into another car and a gas pump.

Incredibly, the pump did not catch fire.

Police and emergency personnel responded to the scene, where they found the driver trapped inside his vehicle. He was safely extricated - but showed signs of intoxication. He will be booked for investigation of DUI after receiving treatment for minor injuries at St. Francis Hospital.

The occupants of the other car that was hit were inside paying at the time - so they weren't hurt.

The owners of the gas station tell KOMO News this is the third time that someone has crashed into a gas pump there - and say they've already expressed their concerns about this particular intersection to the city.
