Singer Aaron Carter and his girlfriend were arrested Saturday night in Georgia on DUI and drug charges.

Habersham County Sheriff's Office spokesman Capt. Floyd Canup told CNN the 29-year-old singer and his girlfriend, Madison Parker, were about 80 miles north of Atlanta when they were detained around 9 p.m.

Carter is facing several misdemeanor charges including DUI, possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana and paraphernalia. Parker was charged with possession of marijuana, obstruction of law enforcement officers and possession of drug-related objects.

Carter was scheduled to perform a show in Kansas City Saturday night, but prior to his arrest, his staff tweeted that he wasn't going to make it due to "transportation issues."

Carter is the younger brother of the Back Street Boys' Nick Carter. The former child star is best known for his hits "Aaron's Party (Come and Get It)," and "I Want Candy."

As of Sunday morning, Carter was still being held on a $4,610 bond, according to People.com.
