Authorities told Fox 2 that that the local fire department said that only one person was injured and that the explosion was "not a major incident."
The fire department was originally sending 10 engines to the scene of the incident, but is now sending only three.
Authorities are responding to reports of an explosion at the GM Hamtrack assembly plant near Detroit, reports Fox 2 Detroit.
Police have reportedly not arrived on scene, but said that there are "multiple victims," but could not confirm injuries at this time.
The GM plant builds car models such as the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Chevrolet Impala, and Chevrolet Volt.
