Check out the Kraken burger, one of the biggest hamburgers served at High Dive Bar & Grill in San Diego.
The massive sandwich uses two giant peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in lieu of regular hamburger buns, holding the 1-pound patty, a ball of Gorgonzola cheese, eight pieces of bacon and grilled onions together.
"The Kraken burger was born from a desire to create the biggest, baddest hamburger humanly possible," said Ryan Glenn, owner of High Dive Bar & Grill. Glenn said he has only seen one person finish the Kraken by himself.
"We don't have any t-shirts or anything -- there's nothing but a pat on the back and a full belly from us here at the High Dive," he said. "But most people fail."
The peanut butter and jelly buns use Sriracha-infused peanut butter and homemade strawberry jelly, giving the burger a little bit of a kick along with the gooey, tart texture.
High Dive Bar & Grill, a neighborhood bar that's been open for about 10 years in the Bay Park area of San Diego, is well known for its collection of giant burgers and its craft beer selection.
Other infamous items on the menu include the spicy Hot Mama burger, bacon-topped Bloody Marys and giant breakfast sandwiches.
