This ex-drug dealer is fostering understanding between cops and the community

Circa presents a Freethink series called "Crossing the Divide." This week's episode is "Cops and Barbers" featuring Shaun "Lucky" Corbett. A former drug dealer who served time in prison, Corbett decided to reach out to the police department in his Charlotte community in order for both sides to learn how to approach and deal with the other side.

When Corbett was introduced to Captain Rob Dance of the Charlotte Police Department, he found in him someone who shared the same beliefs and ideas about reaching out to community that he protects.

Corbett became a father at 17, and after spending time in prison for dealing drugs, he opened his own barbershop. Today, he has an 18-year-old son who has become a cadet at the Charlotte Police Department.
