Rapper Finese 2Tymes was arrested in Birmingham, Alabama, on Sunday on charges unrelated to the Little Rock nightclub shooting, CBS News reported. CBS Birmingham affiliate WIAT had reported earlier Sunday that the rapper and another man had been arrested in connection to the shooting.
The U.S. Marshal Service said Finese 2Tymes -- real name Ricky Hampton -- and the other man were arrested on "fugitive from justice" warrants.
Police say no arrests have been made in the shooting at Little Rock's Power Ultra Lounge. Authorities believe the shooting was the result of a dispute in the crowd and may be gang-related.
Rapper Finese 2Tymes and another suspect were arrested in connection to a shooting at a Little Rock, Arkansas, nightclub that wounded 25 people and injured three others on Saturday morning.
Ricky Hampton, 25, a Memphis, Tennessee-based rapper known as Finese 2Tymes, was taken into custody along with 25-year-old Kentrell Gwynn at Side Effects in Birmingham, Alabama, where the rapper was headlining a show, WIAT reported. Both are being held without bond at Jefferson County Jail pending extradition to Arkansas.
Finese 2Tymes was performing at the Power Ultra Lounge in Little Rock when gunfire erupted around 2:30 a.m. Two of the 28 people injured were in critical condition Saturday afternoon, CBS reported.
Ads for the concert showed Finese 2Tymes pointing a gun at the camera.
"A promotional video with a gun on the front cover inviting people to a concert... should also be totally unacceptable in our community," said Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola.
Little Rock officials said they would move on Monday to shut down the club. The landlord that owns the club has officially evicted it.
