The Kindness Card Experiment wants to change New York's rude reputation

NYC is full of rude people? The Kindness Card Experiment is here to change that.

WATCH: The Kindness Card Experiment was created by anonymous New Yorkers who wanted to change the stereotype of their city. New York is not a rude city, rather a helpful city, filled with kind people. This experiment gives out money to random New Yorkers who are seen helping others.

After receiving a card, and redeeming it online, New Yorkers tweet about their kind act.

Hoodies for the Homeless is just one of the many charities you can donate your money to.

There are over 500 cards in N.Y.C. and the surrounding boroughs.

WATCH: Kindness doesn't just happen in New York. One university in Richmond, Virginia, is hoping a free cup of coffee will help conquer the stigma attached to recovering from substance abuse. The"Free Hot Coffee" bike is designed to create a space for people to have conversations over coffee.
