House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) has received tremendous support from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle -- and now, from one of the world's biggest pop stars.
During a U2 concert in Maryland, singer Bono paid tribute to Scalise, who was shot last week while practicing for the congressional baseball game.
"You've been through some troubling days here with the shooting in Alexandria," Bono said. "We are so glad that Congressman Scalise and his comrades made it through. So grateful."
Scalise shared the video on his official Twitter account.
Scalise was among four people shot last week in Alexandria, Virginia. He was wounded in the hip and remains in "serious condition" at MedStar Washington Hospital.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was at the concert when Bono paid tribute to Scalise.
"At the U2 concert tonight with friends," Cruz tweeted. "What talent. Great show!"
