Beyonce's twins reportedly were born prematurely and are 'under the lights'

Superstar Beyonce gave birth to a boy and a girl on Monday who may have a minor medical condition, according to TMZ

TMZ was told that the singer did not go full term and one source told the outlet that the premature babies are "under the lights." That could mean the babies have jaundice, TMZ reported, which is a yellow discoloration in a newborn baby's skin and eyes.

The lights are meant to lower bilirubin in the blood and eliminate the jaundice.

The condition is common among premature infants and is not a severe threat to most babies' health.

Beyonce first announced on Instagram that she is pregnant with twins with husband JAY-Z on Feb. 1.

"We would like to share our love and happiness," the Carters wrote. "We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes."

Beyonce's father, Mathew Knowles, took to Twitter over the weekend on Sunday to celebrate the twins' birth.

"They're here!"Knowles tweeted inserting a digital birthday card that read: "Happy Birthday to the twins! Love, Grandad."
