Shark Week is... *cue Jaws theme song* ... quickly approaching.
And as part of next month's week-long celebration, Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps is going to race against a great white.
Discovery Channel announced plans to air a July 23 show titled "Phelps vs. Shark: Great Gold vs. Great White," where "the world’s most decorated athlete takes on the ocean’s most efficient predator."
The 31-year-old athlete posted this photo to Instagram about diving with sharks.
Based on just the release announcing the event, it is unclear if the 23-time Olympic gold medalist is actually racing a shark.
Phelps swam a 1:53.93, breaking his own world record of 1:54.58 set in 2001.
Considered the fastest swimmer known to man, Phelps' top swimming speed is 6.0 mph, according to ESPN.
Per Discovery, a Great White can swim at least 25 miles per hour.
