Elizabeth Warren said Attorney General Jeff Sessions 'needs to be fired'

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is calling for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to be fired, The Hill reported.

"He needs to be fired. He needs to be taken out of that job," Warren said on a CNN Podcast called "The Axe Files."

Warren pointed to Sessions failing to disclose meetings with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak under oath as reason enough for the former Alabama senator to be relieved of his duties.

Warren has long been a critic of Sessions on Twitter.

Sessions is set to testify in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday. He'll address comments made by former FBI Director James Comey during his testimony last week.

Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigations earlier this year. Comey said during his testimony that he knew of details that made Sessions' involvement in the investigation "problematic."

"If you're not going to be honest during your confirmation hearing, then you ought to be gone," said Warren.
