Claude Fiset, better known as "Claude the Pilot", owns and operates his business, www.MalibuParagliding.com.
Fiset has 30 years of flying experience and has spent the last 15 years flying in Malibu. He's logged over 25,000 flights in his career with about 15,000 of them being tandem flights with customers. He's done all of this while maintaining a 100 percent safety record.
Along with his business in Malibu, California, he has also started clubs and developed launch sites in Canada and Costa Rica.
If you're ever in Costa Rica and looking for an adventure, visit www.iflyCostaRica.com.
Fiset earned a college degree in Engineering before taking on his love for flight. Since that time, he has become a professional Paramotorist as well as a Paraglider.
Paraglide vs. Paramotor
A paramotor incorporates similar techniques as a paraglider but relies on a motor and propeller strapped to the pilot's back for flight. Paragliding requires a higher altitude, preferably a mountaintop, for taking off properly. Operating a paramotor can be done from a flat surface and is more intuitive in terms of flight.
With his knowledge in engineering, Claude the pilot invented his own paramotor known as SYNERGY Paramotors.
Paragliding over Malibu starts around 3,000 feet up the Santa Monica Mountains, and the ride ends on the sandy beaches down below.
WATCH | Up the coast from Malibu, you can find this Elephant Seal Rookery right off of the Pacific Coast Highway.
