Winner often shared her liberal political views and opposition to President Trump on Twitter while using a pseudonym, the Journal-Constitution reported. She wrote that her meeting with Perdue's staff went "really well."

Reality Leigh Winner, 25, was arrested by the FBI at her home on June 3, according to a release from the Department of Justice.

Winner began working as a contractor with Pluribus International Corporation on February 13 and held a Top Secret clearance at the time of the leak.
The criminal complaint against Winner alleges she printed and removed a classified intelligence report from the agency on or around May 9. A few days later, she allegedly mailed that report to an online news outlet.
According to the DOJ, Winner admitted to "intentionally identifying and printing the classified intelligence reporting" despite not having a "need to know."
She also admitted that she knew the intelligence reporting was classified when she sent it to the news outlet, the DOJ said in a statement.
Winner appeared in federal court in Augusta, Georgia, Monday afternoon.
