Former Lakers player Derek Fisher was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a crash

Former Los Angeles Lakers player and ex-New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of drunk driving after his vehicle overturned on a California highway.

Fisher and his passenger, girlfriend and former "Basketball Wives" reality star Gloria Govan, weren't injured in the crash, according to California Highway Patrol.

Highway Patrol said Fisher was driving along U.S. 101 in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles when his 2015 Cadillac veered onto the right shoulder, hitting a concrete curb and guardrail. The vehicle overturned and landed on its roof, blocking two lanes of the highway.

When officers discovered Fisher had been drinking, he was given a DUI test and subsequently arrested.

It is unclear whether the former NBA star has obtained a lawyer.
