UPDATE 1:36 p.m. EST: CNN has cut ties with Kathy Griffin.
Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!

UPDATE May 31, 9:15 a.m. EST: Trump responded on Twitter this morning.
UPDATE 8:08 p.m. EST:
Comedian Kathy Griffin "sincerely apologized" for stirring controversy after she had posed with a bloody beheaded Donald Trump sculpture in a photoshoot with Tyler Shields.
"I crossed the line," she said in a video shared on Twitter. "I move the line and then I cross it. I went way too far. The image is too disturbing."
ORIGINAL STORY: Comedian Kathy Griffin has a lengthy track record of borderline inappropriate behavior, but that hasn't stopped her from participating in a shocking and edgy photo shoot with famed photographer Tyler Shields.
In a TMZ exclusive preview of the shoot, Griffin is captured holding a gory replication of Donald Trump's head.
"Tyler and I aren't afraid to do images that make noise," Griffin said in a TMZ video.
Here's a peak.
While reviewing the images, Griffin suggests that she and Shields travel to Mexico to avoid federal prison.
"We have to move to Mexico today," Griffin said. "'Cause we're going to go to prison...federal prison."
She continued, "We're not surviving this, 'kay?"
Griffin ensured to note that she doesn't condone violence.
But that didn't extinguish the heat. The gory images grabbed the attention of Donald Trump Jr. and the Republican party, both of whom blasted the shoot.
Disgusting but not surprising. This is the left today. They consider this acceptable. Imagine a conservative did this to Obama as POTUS? https://t.co/QdghcbIjS7
