VIDEO | Security camera footage shows the moment a car bomb exploded outside a popular ice cream shop in central Baghdad
At least 13 people were killed and dozens were injured when a car bomb went off just after midnight on Tuesday outside a popular ice cream shop in central Baghdad.
The Islamic State group (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the attack. Iraqi officials told reporters that the explosion apparently involved remotely detonated explosives inside a parked car.
The attack comes just days into the holy month of Ramadan, a holiday in which Muslims fast from dawn until dusk.
Videos posted on social media show the chaos that ensued after the blast.
Some wounded victims could be seen on the ground, while others propped themselves up on the benches outside the ice cream shop.
Last year hundreds were killed when Baghdad's Karrada neighborhood was rocked by a huge truck bomb. The blast was the single deadliest event in Baghdad since Saddam Hussein was overthrown in 2003.
