The grand opening of a water park in California was marred by a grand accident.
A 10-year-old boy was on a slide at The Wave, a water park in Dublin, California, when he fell.
The Bay Area News Group posted video of the accident, which shows the boy nearing the end of the slide before being catapulted off one of the sides.
The boy sustained minor injuries, including a scratched shoulder, that were treated by first aid on the scene, according to a spokesperson for the park.
The 10-year-old was "just shaken up," according to this same spokesperson.
The ride, "Emerald Plunge," had only been operating for 90 minutes when the boy got on.
The park says it closed the slide immediately after the accident and is "reevaluating the slide."
WhiteWater West Industries, which manufactured the slide, will be coming on-site to evaluate the slide and adjacent ones.
