Saudi Arabia and UAE will reportedly pledge $100 million to a Trump-proposed women's fund

The World Bank, along with Ivanka Trump, plans to announce at an event on Sunday that Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates have pledged $100 million towards a fund for women who want to own or start a business, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The money in this donation would be aimed at assisting women in the Middle East.  Ivanka Trump proposed the fund, but is not in control of its money.

Trump is scheduled to hold an event on Sunday with Saudi women "to hear their experiences and discuss opportunities for women's economic empowerment."

“This facility has clear alignment with our broader work to advance women’s economic empowerment. We look forward to launching the facility later this year,” ,” said World Bank President Jim Yong Kim in a statement. “

Has made empowering women in business a central part of her focus since her father's inauguration in January.

Many online are pointing out some supposed hypocrisy in the announcement.
