Nicki Minaj offered to pay the student expenses of around 30 of her Twitter followers

Nicki Minaj is a lot of things: musician, rapper, pop culture icon. And apparently, a pretty casual philanthropist.

Minaj offered to pay the student expenses for around 30 of her Twitter followers in need of support in college. Minaj required proof that a follower deserved a payment, but ultimately wound up paying anywhere between $1,000 and $6,000 to followers for things like tuition fees, food, and books, reports the BBC

Minaj began playing tuition fairy late Saturday night.

One fan in particular need was a follower called Josh.

Reports vary about how many fans Minaj actually assisted.

The musician joked that she had to stop or she wouldn't have "any money left," but said that she would do something similar for her followers in the future.
