Typically, US citizens will send a letter or email Congress, expressing their concerns.
Now, thanks to a new website, Americans can send their ashes to a member of Congress, if they believe they died because of the controversial Republican health plan.
Washington, DC college student Zoey Salsbury launched mailmetothegop.com after House Republicans on Thursday passed an Obamacare repeal bill called the American Health Care Act.
Salsbury's website states the AHCA will gut provisions protected by Obamacare.
Those interested are prompted to fill out a form, detailing why they believe they will die because of the Republican health care bill. Reasons are then posted on the site here.
According to the National Funeral Directors Association, the United States Postal Service offers the only legal method of shipping cremated remains domestically or internationally.
"Yes, it is real," Salsbury, a junior at American University, told HuffPost Thursday. Salsbury's website crashed immediately after it went live.
"Many of my friends will die" if this becomes law, she said. "People will literally die, and they don’t see that that’s going to happen."
