The White House chief usher Angella Reid is no longer in her post, a White House official confirmed Friday.

The official gave no reason. Reid's firing was first reported by  The Washington Post.

A White House official confirmed that Reid is no longer working at the White House.

Reid was the first woman and second African-American woman to hold the post.

Reid was responsible for overseeing all operations and activities at the residence.
