President Trump made a confusing claim during an interview with the Washington Examiner.
Trump wondered why the problems that caused the Civil War "could not have been worked out" and went on to say that President Andrew Jackson "was really angry that he saw what was happening in regard to the Civil War."
The only problem? Jackson died in 1845, 16 years before the start of the war in 1861.
Trump then went on to say, "People don't ask the question, but why was there the Civil War?"
Trump thinks Frederick Douglass is alive, Hitler wasn't low enough to use chemical weapons, and Andrew Jackson lived through the Civil War.— Just Me. (@NoThoughtsHere) May 1, 2017
And, of course, Twitter had a lot to say on the matter.
A lot. To say.
Even Chelsea Clinton weighed in on the matter.
