Classes were canceled at Kentucky's Transylvania University in Lexington Friday when a former student showed up on campus with a bag of weapons and proceeded to attack two women after determining their party affiliation. Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say 19-year-old Mitchell W. Adkins, of Cincinnati, has been arrested in connection to the assault.
Witnesses say local man who attacked Transylvania Univ. students targeted Democrats.

Authorities say Adkins walked into the campus coffee shop when he began attacking people.
Student Tristan Reynolds said when Adkins entered, Adkins said "the day of reckoning has come," then asked someone about their political affiliation.
Adkins reportedly asked someone about their political affiliation and when the answer was Republican, Adkins said "you are safe," according to affiliate WKRC.
Adkins has been charged with first-degree and fourth-degree assault, as well as three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
BuzzFeed claims that Adkins in 2015 wrote a community post on their website in 2015.
The post, titled "Discrimination Of Conservatives In Liberal Arts," accuses the university and students of discriminating against conservatives.
Adkins allegedly wrote that he was repeatedly harassed and treated poorly by liberals because of his political beliefs.
