A teen pleaded guilty to plotting to bomb an Elton John concert on the anniversary of 9/11

A British teenager pleaded guilty Thursday to planning to bomb multiple locations in London, including an Elton John concert and Buckingham Palace.

West London native Haroon Syed, 19, said he was "researching, planning and attempting to source" materials for homemade bombs, The Guardian reports. He planned from April through September 2016 to get the materials.

The Elton John concert Syed targeted was scheduled for Sept. 11.

Syed said he was inspired by ISIS. He was arrested in September after telling an undercover officer of his plan to get bombs. A judge said he would consider a life sentence for Syed, who will be sentenced at a later date.

Syed's brother Nadir was given a life sentence last year for plotting to behead a poppy-seller or police officer on Remembrance Sunday, similar to Veterans Day.
