NASA sent its Cassini spacecraft on a historic mission. It became the first spacecraft to fly between Saturn and its rings today.
The spacecraft has been sending data about Saturn for months. With this trip, due to the complexities of the flight, it will lose contact with Earth for hours. It will end its journey after 22 separate dives between the planet and its rings by crashing the planet and burning up in the atmosphere, sending back more valuable data all the way.
Here's a look at the flight so far.
