LOS ANGELES (Circa) - At Los Angeles burger joint Meatzilla!, you can get any burger on the menu "Meatzza style" -- replacing the top bun with a pepperoni pizza bun. It's fun, it's greasy, and definitely not for the fainthearted.
Co-owner Johnny Lee said the idea came to him in a dream. Lee and co-owner James Reamy didn't take lon to make the dream come true and put meatzza on the menu within the first few weeks of opening the Meatzilla
The duo opened the shop -- formerly Meathead! -- in downtown Los Angeles to offer the neighborhood affordable, quality burgers with fresh ingredients. Everything on the menu is under $10, with the option to upgrade the top bun to a pizza bun for $3 more.
Lee says the meatzza has attracted tourists from all over the country.
Meatzilla! is anything but basic, with burgers with Korean and Japanese twists, and more.
The owners often collaborate with local artists and creatives to build a tight-knit community.
