WATCH | The NALCS Spring Finals just came to a conclusion, but not without giving fans quite a show.
The playoff matches for North American League of Legends took place in Vancouver, British, Columbia, Canada, at the Pacific Coliseum. It featured two matches on Saturday and Sunday.
The third-place match pitted Phoenix1 against FlyQuest, two unexpected thrivers from the split. Phoenix1, which came in eighth place last summer, surged to third place in the regular season while FlyQuest, an upcoming team from the Challenger Series, placed fifth.
The games between the two were close, but P1 ultimately prevailed.
I dont care i am MVP. i also think Hauntzer So good top as you watched Finals. But result is result.— Phoenix1 Arrow(노동현) (@ArrowDongTak) April 24, 2017
Just say to your MVP #YouAreMyMVP
P1's Arrow was awarded MVP of the regular split.
More exciting, though, was the match between Team SoloMid and Cloud9, arguably the two most popular teams in the league.
TSM crushed in the first two games, but C9 came back in the next two.
TSM, however, came out on top after a nail-biting Game 5.
This win secures TSM's spot as the top team in the North American LCS for the second split in a row. But the team still must prove itself outside of this region. It competes next month in the Mid-Season Invitational, a tournament featuring the best teams from around the world.
WATCH | TSM also is the closest North American team to qualify for the World Championships. The Summer Split, beginning in June, will determine which squads get to go.
