Celebrity chef Gino Sorbillo just introduced his Naples's famous pizza fritta to New York City.
The pizza fritta, which is a Neapolitan-style-dough stuffed with toppings, is a well-known street food in Italy, according to Condê Nast Traveler.
Sorbillo, who owns pizzerias in Naples and Milan, opened Zia Esterina in New York's Little Italy.
The new restaurant was named after an aunt and is one of two places the Italian TV personality is opening.
Sorbillo told Eater that he plans to open a second location later this year.
"We want to dispel the false myth that the dough for baked and fried pizza must be different," Sorbillo said in Italian on his website.
Sorbillo has appeared on numerous cooking shows and his pizza has even been blessed by the pope.
One of the chef's pizzerias was burned down after he had a run-in with the mafia a few years ago.
