KFC has hired a new Colonel Sanders: Rob Lowe.
The "Parks and Recreation" actor will debut KFC's new Zinger sandwich as the newest celebrity colonel on Sunday, the chain announced Friday.
He is the latest star to don the white suit, black string tie goatee and black glasses of restaurant founder Colonel Harland Sanders, but in a spacesuit. Past celebrity colonels include "Saturday Night Live"'s Darrell Hammond, actor Billy Zane and comedian Jim Gaffigan.

Here's a clip debuting Rob Lowe as the new Colonel via KFC's Twitter.
This is a very personal opportunity for Lowe:
"My grandfather was the head of the Ohio chapter of the National Restaurant Association in the 1960s and took me to meet Colonel Harland Sanders when I was a kid," Lowe said.
"It was a big deal. I thought this would be a nice homage to both Colonel Sanders and to my grandfather.”
Some are already making correlations between Lowe's past work and his current gig.
The spicy Zinger sandwich is 100% white meat breast filet that's double hand-breaded and fried and then served with lettuce and the Colonel’s mayonnaise on a toasted sesame seed bun.
The Zinger will be available for purchase beginning Monday at participating U.S. restaurant.
