WATCH | This 24/7 delivery service is trying to cut out the convenience store for a range of products. Anyone can use the service, but the name certainly encourages a stoner following.
If today is anything like last year's 4/20 -- the unofficial weed-smoking holiday -- GoPuff should be pretty busy. The delivery service told Mashable that its orders increased by 80 percent last 4/20. And unlike many service apps in the "sharing economy," GoPuff does not have surge pricing, so deliveries today cost the same as any other day.
GoPuff's most popular munchie last year? Ben & Jerry's Half Baked.
GoPuff was started by Yakir Gola and Rafael Ilishayev at Drexel University when they were both 21 years old, and has now grown into a service available in 17 different markets around the country, from New York City to Washington, D.C., to Austin, Texas, to Columbus, Ohio, to Syracuse, New York.
"We deliver 3,000 iterms, in 30 minutes or less, 24/7," says Jake Levin, GoPuff's director of marketing. "Our goal is to be in every major city, every major college town, in the next year or two."
Understandably, people get stoked when their GoPuff arrives.
It might look a little like this.
