Richard Simmons told People on Wednesday that he's "not missing" in his first public address to fans in three years.
He said he in a statement he is doing well after going to the hospital for indigestion:
“Hello to everyone who has shown concern for me and sent their good wishes. You will never know how much it means to me. Aren’t you sick of hearing and reading about me?! LOL Well by now you know that I’m not ‘missing,’ just a little under the weather," the statement read.
This has reminded me that when you need help, you can't be afraid to reach out and ask for it ... I reached out and I hope you will too.
ORIGINAL STORY: Celebrity fitness icon Richard Simmons was hospitalized on Monday while battling "severe indigestion," his representative told ABC News.
He is already doing better, Michael Catalano told ABC. He had been struggling with indigestion for "a few days."
Simmons has been largely out of the public eye recently, prompting the popular podcast "Missing Richard Simmons." He recently signed a new business deal earlier this month that involves endorsements and merchandising.
No one should be worried about me. It was time for me to take some time to be by myself.
Simmons said last year his break from the spotlight was just that -- a break.
