United Airlines is having a tough week. Earlier, the aviation company ignited controversy after it violently dragged a passenger off United Flight 3411, claiming the flight was overbooked. Things only got worse on Thursday, after reports began to circulate that a creature that appears to be a scorpion fell from an overhead bin and stung a passenger identified as Richard Bell on a flight to Calgary.
United told CNBC that the airline crew immediately consulted with a physician on the ground, adding that the man's injuries were non-life threatening.
"Medical personnel met the aircraft after it arrived in Calgary," United spokesman Charles Hobart said.
