Jeff Sessions said taxpayers, not Mexico, would pay for the border wall

Attorney General Jeff Sessions told Fox News Tuesday he expected "Congress" would pay for President Trump's proposed border wall. 

Trump had long promised that "Mexico would pay for it," despite claims by Mexico that it would do no such thing.

ORIGINAL STORY: Attorney General Jeff Sessions, speaking to immigration officials in Arizona on Tuesday, heralded the arrival of the "Trump era" of immigration enforcement, ABC News reported.

Sessions also announced his Department of Justice planned to hire 125 new immigration judges over the next two years.

"This is what happens when you have a president who understands the threat," Sessions said.

President Trump's immigration policies have been met with praise from some conservatives but backlash from other groups. California recently declared itself a "sanctuary state" in response to Trump's policies.
