Emma Stone can't make it to 17-year-old Jacob Staudenmaier's prom, but she did send him a sweet letter with a very flattering compliment.
Staudenmaier, a high school junior, orchestrated an elaborate "prom-posal" in which he recreated the opening scene of "La La Land" in an attempt to sway the actress into attending the event with him.
"People say I look like Ryan Gosling and maybe that's a bit far-fetched," Staudenmaier sang in the video. "Please don't let me down, it'd be in your hometown."
Staudenmeier, who lives near Stone's hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona, even offered to throw in a dinner at Olive Garden if she said "yes."
The teen finally has his answer and appeared on Friday's "Good Morning America" to read Stone's letter to him.
Stone called the video "the greatest proposal I've ever received."
"I can't tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled throughout that beautifully orchestrated video," Stone wrote. "I'm in London working, but I hope you have the best time at prom and I'm grateful you thought of me."
But then, Stone dropped one of the best compliments a 17-year-old guy could ever receive.
"P.S.," Stone wrote, "I do see Gosling around the eyes. Love, Emma."
Now, there's no doubt, Staudenmaier will find a date to his prom on April 29.
