WATCH | Unique museums are popping up all over the world. Washington DC's Spy Museum, Museum of Bad Art and Ramen Museum are just a few examples. But in Pittsburgh, PA, the dedication to automatons is on another level.
The Carnegie Science Center is home to Roboworld, the world's largest display of robotics. Within the exhibit is the Robot Hall of Fame where a dozen or so robots immortalized in popular culture are on display. From Maria to Gort to C-3PO and R2-D2, chances are your favorite robot is on display.
Dewey (Silent Running, 1972) and C-3PO (Star Wars, 1977).
But it's not all fictional characters. Some robots like the 'Mars Pathfinder Sojourner Rover' are honored and inducted into the hall of fame. Others like the 'DaVinci Surgical System,' a revolutionary device used in invasive surgery round out the list.
A brand new robot will be introduced later this year, but the reveal has been tightly sealed.
