North Korea fired a projectile into the Sea of Japan on Wednesday morning local time, a South Korean Defense Ministry official told CNN. The U.S. believes it was likely a ballistic missile.
The South Korean official said the projectile was fired from South Hamgyong Province.
The projectile's launch comes after the North Korean regime has fired several tests in the first two months of this year. On Tuesday, a senior White House official said, "The clock has now run out, and all options are on the table."
