John Cena is one of the most recognizable pro wrestlers in the world, even to non-wrestling fans. And WrestleMania is the event's biggest stage.
So naturally, he capped an explosive night for wrestling fans with a proposal to his longtime girlfriend and fellow wrestler Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace (AKA Nikki Bella) Sunday night.
But many fans couldn't get over the idea that Cena was proposing while wearing cargo shorts. Then again, it's not clear what the approved attire for a wrestling-ring proposal is.
Of course, the crowd ate up the proposal itself.

So that's why John Cena is the last man on earth to still wear cargo shorts— Big Cat (@BarstoolBigCat) April 3, 2017
The shorts came in handy, since he apparently stored the ring in his pockets while wrestling.

Much like John Cena, I also proposed to my wife in a wrestling ring. And I wear cargo shorts.— Mick Shaffer (@mickshaffer) April 3, 2017
Apparently, this question has been on fans' minds for a while.
Perhaps for years.
