Only one person stood in the way of Doug Cox proposing to his long-term girlfriend and that was Fuller House star, John Stamos. That's because she's one of Stamos' superfans.
So naturally, the San Francisco-based director and editor decided to reach out to Stamos for some help.
"You see, John, my girlfriend has a John Stamos problem," Cox wrote to Stamos in a letter obtained by People. “Therefore I have a John Stamos problem.”
“I want to marry this woman," Cox continued in his letter. "But there is a brick wall in the way that resembles a 6-foot-tall Greek god with better hair than me. And John, I have fantastic hair.”
Cox added that a photo of Stamos has been hanging in the couple's living room for three years and that they even own the original Full House board game.
The way I see it, if you won’t marry her, please at least ask her to marry me...
Cox then requested that Stamos send him a signed photo for his 39-year-old girlfriend, Katrina Firenze. Cox was going to use that for his marriage proposal, but Stamos upped the ante.
Stamos instead sent a video encouraging Firenze to say yes to Cox's proposal.
“From what I see here you’re a handsome man, you have nice hair, good beard, got beautiful blue eyes. Katrina, I would say yes to this,” Stamos, 53, replied in his own video. “If I was a woman, and I’m not saying I’m not, I would say yes to Doug. So I guess this is me asking you to marry him. And I hope you do," Stamos said in the video.
Cox's recorded his girlfriend's reaction as she watched the video Stamos sent.
And this, will likely go down in history and "The John Stamos Proposal."
