U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested the father of one of the two Maryland high school students accused of raping a 14-year-old girl.
Montgomery County Police arrested and charged 18-year-old Henry Sanchez-Milian with first-degree rape on March 16. The teen was living with his father in an Aspen Hill, Maryland, apartment at the time of his arrest.
The teen's father, 43-year-old Adolfo Sanchez-Reyes, was taken into custody on March 24 after news of the alleged incident involving his son sparked outrage within the community. ICE said Sanchez-Milian and Sanchez-Reyes are both undocumented immigrants from Guatemala.
Sanchez-Reyes is being held at the Howard County Detention Center in Jessup, Maryland. He will now have to appear in immigration court, but an exact court has yet to be released.
