Antonio Banderas told Spanish media that he's recovered after suffering a heart attack at the end of January.

The 56-year-old actor initially brushed off the chest pains as a heart "episode" and said he was released from the hospital after a brief observation period.

"Enjoying nature after a startle," he wrote just days after he was hospitalized.

Banderas, however, is now revealing that he underwent a procedure to place three stents in his arteries.

"It hasn't been as dramatic as some have written," he told Spanish media.

The star's trip to a Swiss clinic initially led to speculation about his health.

Banderas spoke at a film festival in his hometown of Malaga, Spain, Saturday and addressed questions about his health.
