Comedian Melissa McCarthy never had an intention of impersonating White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. In fact, when she received a call from one of the "Saturday Night Live" writers, she responded, "What?! How am I going to do that?"
From that moment on, McCarthy said in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, she began really getting into the gig. She even asked SNL for eye bags to play a more convincing Spicer.

She also addressed the uncanny resemblance she shares with Spicer, explaining that her father also looks like the press secretary.
"I feel like my dad and Sean Spicer had a baby, and it’s me. Which makes it even stranger," McCarthy explained.
When DeGeneres asked what her husband, Ben Falcone, thought about the gig, he replied, "I guess I'm into Spicer."
"Sexy was not the first thing that came to mind," he continued.
