A Miami Open men’s tennis match between Tommy Haas and Jiri Vesely was interrupted by an interesting spectator on Wednesday. A 3-foot-long iguana had come out of the surrounding swampland and climbed onto one of the on-court scoreboards.
Play was halted for eight minutes while tournament officials tried to capture the reptile. Tommy Haas took advantage of the downtime and snagged a selfie with the iguana.
At one point it ran across the court and climbed up the opposite scoreboard before it was finally captured and returned safely to its home in the wilds of Key Biscayne, Florida.
The stubborn iguana stole the show - that's for sure.
