A few lucky Netflix users probably noticed a change on their accounts. The streaming service has launched a "Skip Intro" button that allows users to fast-forward through a TV show's opening credits, CNN reported.
According to company spokesperson Smita Saran said the convenient feature is one of "hundreds" of A-B tests that the company conducts each year to get a feel of what changes users wish to see.
"We're looking at what does or doesn't enhance the viewing experience," Saran said.
Here's what it looks like.
The immediate details of the button test remain unclear. The company declined to share which platforms the button is available on, but viewers have mostly noticed the change while streaming on their computers.
the "skip intro" button on netflix is so great bc after watching the 12th episode in one day you get a little tired of hearing the song— amber. (@AmberFuhrman2) March 17, 2017
So far, it appears as though the test is going well.
