President Trump plans to host Chinese President Xi Jinping at Mar-a-Lago, his mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, according to Axios.
The date of the visit is tentatively set for April 6-7.
Trump has repeatedly criticized China, at one point saying the Asian superpower was "raping our country." He briefly flirted with revoking the "one China" policy and butted heads over its retrieval of a U.S. Navy drone. However, China approved 38 new Trump trademarks, and many in China are fascinated with him as a cultural icon.
Trump hosted Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at Mar-a-Lago last month. He said the meetings were very productive, but a briefing at the mansion on North Korea's missile test drew questions over security.
Trump has called on China to cooperate with the U.S. in dealing with North Korea and to back off of the South China Sea, where Reuters reports Japan recently sent its largest warship.
