"Game of Thrones" is coming back for its seventh season on July 16. But, naturally, the creators of the hit HBO series wanted to reveal the premiere date in an unorthodox way, testing the loyalty and patience of its avid fans.
On Thursday, the hit HBO series livestreamed a Facebook video showing a giant block of ice, with fire to melt the ice and reveal the secret date on a plaque inside. The page urged viewers to type "fire" or "dracarys" to speed up the painstakingly long process of watching ice melt.
It took roughly 90 minutes for the ice to melt.
But it was worth the wait. After the date was revealed, the seventh-season's trailer played as an unexpected surprise.
